Nilüfer Demir - Mücahit Bektaş / Muğla, Sep 4 () – In Bodrum district of Aegean province of Muğla, people gathered to commemorate the 12 migrants including 8 children who have drowned and washed ashore after a migrant boat disaster, and left cloves and wreathes at where three-year-old Aylan Kurdi and his five-year-old brother Galip Kurdi were found, lifeless, lying on the surf.

Along with locals and Mayor of Bodrum Mehmet Kocadon, the ceremony drew heavy attention from domestic and international press.

Citizens and officials urged the tragedy should be ended, and international community should step up, hoping the spirit of the toddler would encourage efforts for global peace.
