Orhan Sencer / Istanbul, Aug 31 () - The world-renowned diva of jazz with two Grammy awards, Diane Schuur or the “first lady of jazz”, will meet her Turkish fans in Istanbul once more after a long while, on October 19.
The concert to be hosted in Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall will be dedicated to Frank Sinatra and Stan Getz, and Schuur will perform cult songs of her career along with songs from her last album.
Schuur will be accompanied by Adam Pache with drum, Ben Wolfe with contrabass and Julian Siegel with saxophone.
Schuur is a 61-year-old American jazz artist who have lost her vision after labor complications and hit the stages after her first album “Deedles” in 1984.
Schuur has even toured the world with masters of jazz such as Stan Getz, B. B. King, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder.
